Hi everyone, just registered to spin the idea of recording Lost Patrol (Ocean). I loved the game back then, despite the fact that is was a loose minigame-collection, I felt for my crew and I never got them back..

I wanna know how this game ends :)

Its fucking impossible, and there is no walkthrough for it, so i guess nobody has ever completed it.

I need to reinstall my windows before doing any new longplays anyway

No no no, Hipoonios... This game is not diffucult at all.... if you know the techinques.... there was a thread in the English Amiga Board called something like "The hardest games on Amiga".... someone posted that Lost Patrol was hard.. and a couple of others replied saying that it's very easy if you do it the right way... search that thread up and you will have no problem completing this game....

Now don't tell ME to complete it.. cause I'm too busy with other stuff... but LP IS easy.

Hi again

I'm not a hardcore gamer but I finished Lost Patrol!
I don't have the time but I would really like to make the longplay. So I give tips for anyone who wants to try...

The key point his to rest the party regularly, only 10 minutes. You can look to the stats, both helth and moral must increase even if the character is wounded. Most of the 7 characters where at 100% at the end of the game. It is boring to walk, rest, walk, rest, etc, but it works. It's also important to know that it is better to rest twice 10mn than 20mn in once.
In fact, always look at the stats: they decrease each time you walk, so be sure to rest until you reach the previous level and all will be fine.
Also make sure to camp (soldiers must sleep). I dont remember how many hours (7, 8?), but in that case it's better to rest a long time than hour/hour (to not break the sleep). Also use half rations when camp.
Go and collect food to the first village (be kind)
Avoid vc patrol (remember you're just 7 guys!): try to win, but if the fight seems to be too long, just flee away!)
Never send scout, because in case of fight the health may be very low and it will be difficult (impossible) to recover.
For sniper encounter choose the best man (Bloom if I remember well, or Weawer).
When close to a booby trap area, change the leader (not Weawer), walk normaly, because walk with caution will decrease health and moral! If your man is wounded, don't care! With the "rest tip" he will gradually recover. Be sure to take Weawer leader again after this.
I remember you have to be merciless with the second village to get food. Later on you may enconter an old woman, don't accept his rice even if you're starving!
You may go to Do Hoc safe with all you party alive...

Good morning to all

Nobody could make a video of this game for me if it does not go until the end. It is only for pleasure to look at a nice party on this game.

I to eat that I really insist for this game but I really want to see a nice video if the party does not go until the end.

I thank greatly if generous soul will you want to make it for me, Even if it is to look at a video which makes only 30 minutes I shall show it entirely.

I am on that such video would interest other members of this forum.

Hello, everybody!

I just wanted to chime in and add my experience with Lost Patrol.

First of all, only someone with a legitimate copy will be able to finish this game. The two cracked versions circulating are either a beta with missing features or the final version which is not cracked properly. The protection will make your platoon's morale and health drop suddenly to a level, where the leader will be fragged immediately. And that is game over.

Besides, the game is rather easy, at least if you are willing to use the already mentioned "10-minutes rest" exploit: due to a bug, the game will restore the same amount of health and morale whether you rest 10 minutes (minimum rest allowed) or one hour. So by resting 6 times 10 minutes, you actually get 6 hours' worth of rest. Furthermore, by design, your troops don't consume food or water during such short rests. So even though your soldiers neither sleep nor eat or drink, they will recover. As you can probably guess, the rest of the game is no big challenge, if you are somewhat proficient with your mouse (for the action sequences) and know which path to take to avoid patrols yet make good progress.

If you don't use this exploit, the game is very hard, due to having to constantly make trade-offs between resting/eating and progressing so that you might gather more food/ammunition.

I finished it once or twice, and if I remember correct there 2 different ways of finishing the game, depending on the routes you took and the actions you chose. The game had to my opinion some of the most astonding audios and mucially it was a masterpiece. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vKL5ykAuvs&feature=related <--- a remake on Utube
